You should read 12 volts before starting and around 14 volts once it starts and the alternator is charging the battery. Also check for loose connections between the alternator and battery. Check that the ground wire from the battery is secured to the vehicles frame. Good luck! Posted on Oct 18, 2011.
Surrey. Apr 1, 2016. #4. Something to try, take both terminals off the battery and connect the together for 15 minutes then connect them back to the battery and see if it sorts itself out. Your no start condition could be caused by several things. I suggest that you have a technician inspect: the mass airflow sensor, crank position sensor, cam position sensor. fuel pressure regulator and the immobilizer system. A bad mass air flow sensor will cause incorrect data to be sent to the computer which will cause a no start condition. 2008 Audi Q7 No Start, No Sound, No Crank when you turn the key in the ignition: If nothing happens when you turn the ignition key to the “Start” position, it means that the starter motor doesn’t turn over the engine. Just come across this thread trying to solve the starting problem on my Son's A4 B5 facelift. It has exactly the same symptoms as the others, will not start unless the glow plug light is seem. I've replaced the relays, but it still takes ages (or longer) of turning the key before it will start and it's getting worse. That sounds EXACTLY like the problem I had a while back. Happened after I would drive around, park, then when I came to start the car back up it would start up and then instantly die. Or Id have to crank it a bunch. It ended up being the in-tank fuel pump along with a faulty low fuel pressure sensor. Have not had the same issue since. 3IFPK3.
